Dear neighbor of Fontanars dels Alforins,

We left behind two legislatures at the head of the City Council, where we have worked every day to improve the lives of the people who live in Fontanars dels Alforins. The last four years have not been easy, we have had to face a pandemic that has affected us economically and socially.

In the coming years we have to face important challenges, both for society in general and at the local level. We want to be by your side and work side by side, with a smile, maintaining the illusion of the first day and the conviction that Fontanars dels Alforins will be what we alforiners and alforineres want it to be.

For this reason, with a background of eight years of experience at the head of the City Council, and with a team willing to continue working very hard, we ask for your confidence once again.

Lower Real Estate Tax (IBI)

In 2011, the Central Government approved an update of the cadastral value of 100% (equivalent to doubling it). The rise was made progressively over 10 years. The urban IBI has gone from 0.80% (2015) to 0.69% (2023).

This drop has made it possible to offset the rise in cadastral value and maintain the amount to be paid at 2013 levels.

PROPOSALS FOR 2023-2027

The members of the list that is running for Compromís per Fontanars dels Alforins want to continue working for our town and carry on with the courageous policies that have kept us busy in the Town Council during the past two terms.

As the new elections are drawing closer, we want to continue striving to make Fontanars dels Alforins a better town. To achieve this goal we want to share a number of proposals that follow the line of work we have followed during these eight years.

EDUCATION

Contributing economically to curricular material and extracurricular activities for our School. (CEIP Comte de Salvatierra).
Contributing to the Patis Actius (Active Schoolyards) project (created by the school’s parents association).
Renovating the school building.
Supporting our pre-school and adult school services.
Continuing offering Christmas, Easter, and summer schools.

HEALTHCARE AND SOCIAL WELFARE

Promoting activities that encourage healthy lifestyle habits.
Installing outdoors exercising elements in different areas of the town to facilitate physical activity.
Commissioning a wake room in the cemetery.
Drafting the improvement and expansion project of the Health Center.
Working alongside the recently created Mancomunidad de servicios sociales (Commonwealth of Social Services) with the municipalities of La Font de la Figuera and Montesa.
Executing the measures approved in the Fontanars dels Alforins Equality Plan.

YOUTH AND SPORTS

Creating new sports infrastructures.
Creating a young-people space at the Escoles Velles (Old School building).
Resuming skiing trips.
Supporting and coordinating sporting events.
Promoting physical activity and sport among the inactive population.

CULTURE AND FESTIVALS

Preparing the activities to commemorate the centenary of our town in the year 2027.
Continuing the annual cultural activity.
Maintaining the ‘Estiu Viu’ programme.
Supporting and working alongside the local associative movement.

PARKS AND GARDENS

Creating a new park of more than 5,000 m² in the North Ring Road with children’s games, a space for dog socialization and a green area.
Replacing the benches, tables, swings, slides and other elements in the different parks.
Improving the green areas in the town by installing new leisure and entertainment elements.

AGRICULTURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Modifying the agrarian current regulation.
Launching a control plan and ethical management of our feline colonies.
Acquiring forest land for its management by the Town Council.
Cataloguing monumental and unique trees.
Organising environmental volunteering.
Promoting environmental awareness campaigns to address the climate emergency.
Creating an agrocomposting facility to manage waste derived from agricultural activity.
Providing financial endowment to execute the Local Waste Management Plan approved in the past legislature.

COMMUNICATION AND TOURISM

Promoting the Fontanars dels Alforins brand.
Maintaining the virtual communication channels created in the previous legislatures: website, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp messaging service.
Creating a hiking and cycling programme to provide attractive outdoor activities.

TRADE AND ECONOMIC PROMOTION

Passing a regulatory ordinance of the Sunday market.
Expanding the current programmes to incentivise shopping at our local businesses.
Continuing promoting employment programmes to create jobs in the town.
Staying committed to managing our financial resources responsibly.
Supporting the Local Energy Community.

HERITAGE AND TERRITORY

Searching for lines of financing to renovate the old Civil Guard barracks and assign a social use to it.
Rehabilitating and equipping the “Moro” forestry house.
Restoring and enhancing elements of our natural and architectural heritage.
Increasing investment on the improvement and conservation of rural roads.
Improving the Camí de les Piles recreational area and make its road pedestrian-friendly.

INFRASTRUCTURES AND URBAN PLANNING

Improving the urban layout in the town.
Continuing removing architectural barriers.
Initiating renovation works to improve the Old School building.
Reviewing existing road signs and adding new ones to improve safety.
Continuing with the implementation of photovoltaic energy installations on public buildings.
Consolidating and improving the current industrial land.
Taking the initial steps to create industrial land.
Exploring initiatives to create a public housing system.
